MindWare 0.3.8 (Public Release)

MindWare 0.3.8 is now out publicly for everyone. The headline is the HiveClean latex maid arc, which is where most of this version went: the maid now shows up for appointments with a complementary service attached, and there are three separate sessions to find depending on what you do. On top of that there’s a new EroSphere glory booth earning route, the next steps in the Aegis and Yuki threads, and a lot of work under the hood.

The HiveClean content gets a lot bigger

Once the HiveClean maid has cleaned your apartment enough times, a new checkbox appears on the Hive Properties booking site, and the maid starts turning up for appointments that include a complementary service.

Two of those sessions are in. Finishing one unlocks it as a replay, so you can go back to it once there’s nothing new left in that thread, and the second service can be requested again from later bookings. There’s also a third bonus path that only opens if you turn her down.

Smaller updates instead of a 3.7 GB download

The downloads page can now hand you an incremental update rather than the whole archive. If you already have an exact, unmodified copy of the previous build, the update package contains only the files that genuinely changed, which is roughly 55 MB instead of 3.7 GB for this specific release.

A new way to earn at the glory booth

The EroSphere glory booth now has Mouth and Genitals earning options, and you can run more than one service in a single session for a combined bonus.

The Aegis story moves forward

Aegis picks up with the Stage 3 results visit, a new dream on the first night after the firmware installation visit, and a Cipher chat about how the deal is going.

Yuki’s storyline continues

Yuki’s Stage 2 messages start on their own, one to three days after her Stage 1 arc finishes. She’s decided that what happened between you is a standing arrangement now. Where it goes depends on how you answer her.

It’s one conversation so far. Most of the effort went into the staging and trigger scripts underneath it, so the next messages in her arc will come much faster now that the wiring is done.

Under the hood

A large chunk of this release went into things you should only notice by their absence. Minigames, story sequences, hypno audio, overlays, and timed scenes no longer keep running in the background after you’ve left them, which is what used to make long sessions get progressively heavier. Content Maps and several long-running activities are smoother for the same reason.

Supporter sign-in now handles edge cases better, recovers more cleanly when a service is temporarily down, always returns you to the official MindWare site, offers a direct re-verification button when your pass has expired, and no longer leaves the portal sitting on “Verifying” after it has already worked.

If you’re playing on a site that isn’t mine, the game now says so clearly and explains that videos and other media are likely to be broken there, with links to the real thing. I added this because a steady share of the bug reports I get turn out to be third-party hosting sites rewriting the game’s code, not bugs in MindWare, with broken videos being the usual symptom.

What’s Next

The plan I set out during the betas still stands: I want to take the maid arc to the point where the main character gets the chance to earn some side income as a maid. That’s the next thing I’m building.

After that, there’s a Chapter 2 backlog with many quest branches to advance before we reach Chapter 3.
