MindWare 0.3.9 (Public Hotfix 1)

Public Hotfix 1 is now available to everyone. It brings the latest bug fixes and improvements to the public version of MindWare.

Alongside the new supporter beta, I wanted to get the latest fixes into the public version too. This hotfix includes the same repairs and improvements as 0.3.10 Supporters Beta 1, while keeping the public story at its existing content boundary. Yuki’s new playable conversation remains in the supporter beta.

The latest bug reports helped catch a few particularly annoying problems. You can now leave Trix’s apartment building when another visit is unavailable. Her office conversations and phone-hacking mission respect her absence after arrest, and the bruteforce minigame stops its beeping when you leave, including after quickly reopening it.

Old therapy tasks no longer promise an appointment from an unfinished storyline, and Trix’s Aegis meeting task now clearly marks the end of its available content. Your progress is kept; these changes do not complete an unplayed scene.

The hotfix also includes the wider round of repairs to job and stream payments, the Delacroix debt, CodeBuddy subscriptions, New Game and chapter selection, and app navigation after loading a save. Yuki’s existing messages arrive in order without overwriting unread conversations, and their waiting period starts after you read them. New passages start at the top without delayed jumps while you’re reading.

There is one small addition to Settings as well: everyone can now turn off text fade and typewriter effects.

Play and download

For a clean installation, use the Full Archive.

The Update from 0.3.9 Public package is only for an unmodified full installation of 0.3.9 (Public). Extract it into that folder, merge and replace files when asked, then open the new Public Hotfix 1 HTML file. If you’re using a different version or have changed the files, use the Full Archive.

The HTML-only download contains no media and requires a complete compatible media folder. The full archive or the exact-base update is the simplest option.

Back up important saves from Save / Load before updating. If you’ve already started Yuki’s new conversation in the supporter beta, keep using the beta for that save.

Older interrupted sessions can be recovered where their saved state still identifies them; the hotfix cannot reconstruct every detail missing from an older save. App return locations are preserved when recorded or recovered from recent history when possible.

Thank you to everyone who sent a report. I hope this makes your next session a smoother one! 🖤
