MindWare

RoadMap

🕐 Coming Soon

Synapse Steady VX

The Synapse Steady VX implant currently exists in the game only as a non-functional mockup. That needs to change quickly because it will play an essential role in the story by allowing the player to actively resist AVA’s suggestions.

Resume Button

Replaying the same parts of the game over and over again sucks—I know. That’s why I will soon implement a resume button to start from specific points in the story. You will be able to set important variables to reflect your preferred playstyle.

Post-Surgery Conversations

Cipher deserves to know how the operation went, and the player character’s work colleagues will wonder where he was.

Semi-Locked UI

The sidebar(s) currently completely disappear during linear passages, making it impossible to use the back button and access the Save menu. This wasn’t the best design decision I could have made, and I want to fix it by merely stowing the sidebars instead.

In Development 🧑‍💻

Chapter 1 Main Story

The main story in Chapter 1 will revolve around the player’s interactions with Cipher and other characters that has been introduced so far now that AVA is part of the equation.

Chapter 1 Side Missions

Byte Bunker’s glory days may be in the past, but new hacking jobs are still posted from time to time. Of course, there are also other work opportunities in NeoUrbania.

Player Character Screen

Physical MtF transformation in MindWare will have both visual and gameplay consequences. To enable both, I need to implement a player character screen so that you can see what your in-game body looks like.

Player Avatar Overhaul

Right now, the player avatar can show only a binary transformation. I want it to be more gradual. For that to happen, I will (at least initially) have to sacrifice the existing avatar images, but I’m convinced that the sacrifice will be worth it.

Bad Tenant Path

Those who don’t pay rent in NeoUrbania don’t have a roof over their heads. Should you end up in such a situation yourself, you can expect a bad ending. Well, unless you figure out a way out of it, of course.

Code Improvements

My (still extremely basic) coding skills and understanding of MindWare’s engine have improved noticeably since the start of the game’s development, and there are many parts of the game that deserve to be improved/optimized not just for better performance but also to prevent implosion in the future.

Music Player Overhaul

I personally like the music player in MindWare because the cyberpunk tracks alone can set the right mood for the game, in my opinion. That said, the current music selection is way too limited and becomes repetitive quickly. I want to replace it with much longer playlists, so that you can listen for hours and hours and never get bored.

AI Work Assistant

Player’s coding job at BrainFry is so simple that even a basic AI coding assistant could do it. The assistant won’t be too capable at first but it will become better over time if you keep using it.

📆 Future

Sound Effects

Wouldn’t it be cool if different locations in the game had unique soundscapes and different actions triggered different sounds? I think it would!

Multiple Endings

MindWare’s story will have multiple endings to reflect your choices in the game, namely those that affect your morality, gender, and relationships with other characters.

No Implant Path

Are you not interested in having your head sawed open to install the Synapse Steady VX implant and control AVA? Well, then you can look forward to a short but exciting journey.

Mobile Optimization

MindWare isn’t developed with mobile devices in mind, but making it playable on them wouldn’t be too difficult. If I ever have more time to dedicate to the game’s development, then mobile optimization will surely end up on my to-do list.

Full Physical and Mental Transformation

Just to make it clear: full physical and mental transformation of the main character is planned, but it will take some time (multiple chapters) to happen.

More Supporter Perks

I’m incredibly grateful for the support and enthusiasm you’ve shown and I want to reward it with more supporter perks.
